What advice would you give to your past self when you were just starting your research journey?
I read a book titled “Period. End of Sentence” on my flight from LAX to India, I sobbed for the girls who dream of being doctors but are forced to quit school when they get their period. I wanted to help stop the stigma around periods but I was scared of the public’s response to menstrual education and research. I felt ashamed to ask for help and to my surprise I was given immense support from NGOs, researchers, educators, and most of all my mother. Looking back, I would tell myself to not be ashamed to ask for help, real change begins when you reach out.
