What advice would you give to your past self when you were just starting your research journey?

Resist the urge to find shortcuts. Balancing classes, work, and campus involvement, I initially underestimated the time and attention research requires and looked for ways to save time. But the most meaningful growth came when I committed fully and embraced the hard work head-on. As I managed my time more intentionally and gave my project the focus it deserved, the quality and depth of my work improved significantly. What began as a 40-page study blossomed to over 100 pages, driven by genuine curiosity and a deepening passion for my subject. Put in the effort early—it really will help transform your research experience and the final product.
