What do you enjoy most about mentoring and working with undergraduate students?
I enjoy seeing the growth that happens in a student when engaged in a year-long research project: nothing else compares during the undergraduate career. Class assignments end with the quarter, but research grows in complexity and impact the longer you focus on it. My favorite thing about serving as a mentor is seeing this growth mirrored in the student researcher.
